Moncalvo
where the charm of the medieval town meets the picturesque landscape
of the Monferrato hills, and delights you with the famous gastronomy typical of our area.
A sneak peek at what you can find.

the historic centre of the smallest city of Italy consists of the medieval village with narrow streets, stairways, steep ramps, steep paths, stately mansions and craft shops and, with the many historic buildings, is the main attraction of the visitor.

The Sacro Monte di Crea (Sacred Mount of Crea), is situated on one of the highest hills of the Monferrato area
The Sacred Mount follows a path that culminates in the Marian Sanctuary and goes, towards a wood of oaks, ash trees and a sandstone rocky soil, to the top of the hill at the Cappella del Paradiso (Chapel of Paradise). Like the other Sacred Mounts of Piemonte it is located in a large natural park: it represents a perfect blend of landscape, art and historical memory.

The ancient walkway of the castle
The ancient walkway of the castle, a very large tunnel 13 metres long, has a constant temperature in all seasons and it was formerly used by soldiers. It houses some tables and 20 seats while, during the warm season, there is an outdoor patio on the square with other tables.

The area is full of wine and grappa producers
We strongly believe in wine tourism and we are pleased to offer hospitality, better by reservation, to all wine enthusiasts wishing to take guided tours of the vineyards, taste the wines and grappa and enjoy the natural beauty of our hills.
